Bat Haus was conceived by Cody Sullivan & Natalie Chan. Through many conversations with small business advisors, bankers, fellow coworking spaces, lawyers, and contractors, this idea has evolved into a complex and well-mannered life-form.
Natalie was born in Taipei, Taiwan and studied Philosophy at the University of Texas, Austin. She came to New York in 2007 to pursue Photography at School of Visual Arts. Since graduation, she has worked at Griffin Editions, a pioneer of fine art photography printing. In addition, her photography has received awards in several national competitions.
Cody grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and received degrees in Philosophy and English Literature from Rhode Island College. Now a freelance writer and web designer, he has experienced every form of working environment from the big ad-house to the small-town library. His desire for a space that offers freelancers the community of an office without the distraction of a cafe has lead he and Natalie to discover the ‘cowork’ movement and that they're not alone in their search.
